Green Impact Bronze Award!
5 May 2022
The World Health Organisation tells us that climate change is the greatest health threat to humanity in the 21st century. The good news is that action to reduce the impact of the climate crisis also significantly improves our health now. These include actions to improve air quality, our ability to walk or cycle, our access to healthy diets and living in more connected communities. Environmentally sustainable healthcare aims to prevent ill health, empower patients to self-care and make sure those who need healthcare most, are prioritised.
At Burngreave Surgery we recognise that the health of people and planet are highly connected and that is why we are taking part in the ‘Green Impact for Health’ award scheme. This scheme offers general practices a toolkit with over 100 actions to improve environmental sustainability and quality of patient care. We are proud to have achieved a Bronze award as part of this scheme and are working towards a Silver award!
